This workbook has exactly 8 full practice questions in it. If you’re shopping for a book of practice problems (as I originally was) then this is not your book. That said I have still found this book to be helpful and worthwhile. The exercises included in this book reinforce the concepts introduced in the PowerScore series. If you’re studying with the PowerScore books then this can be a helpful supplement. If you’re studying with any other guide then avoid this, it won’t be helpful to you (also if you’re studying with anyone other than PowerScore then stop, Kaplan and the others aren’t nearly as good). Best of luck.
I had previously bought the Logic Games Bible and worked through it cover to cover, yet found myself needing more repetition. The workbook allows for just that, logic game after logic game to hone skills introduced in the Games Bible and to build up your rhythm in attacking each game as well as confidence in facing them. I would almost say that this book is necessary if you're working with the Games Bible, but especially so if you find yourself, like me, needing some more time reinforcing concepts and gaining familiarity with how to go about working with these brain teasers. I recommend this very, very highly!
The book, as renowned as it is, only provides basic concepts of the logic games. All of the practice problems are easy levels, when on the actual LSAT the problems are advanced level. You'll most likely get all of these easy ones correct and you'll feel like they taught you something. When in reality, you're being misguided into assuming all questions are that easy. This book is a waste of your money if you actually want to do well on the test. Learn the basics, of course. But to practice, use advanced problems such as the ones found on old tests.
I got this book thinking that it was a book of practice logic games to be used in addition to the big book. I was wrong. Still not 100% sure exactly that it's for. It was only about 5-10% games and then the rest was REALLY nit-picky details of how to diagram and solve. I guess it's an aid for if you're having problems understanding their Logic Games Bible? I don't know.....(I'd already bought the Kaplan LSAT workbook and wanted more logic games to practice. This is not what I wanted.)
I bought this book for more LG practice, especially after reading how pointless the "setup book" is!I would like to say that I never purchased the Set-up book so I can't attest to its worth. This workbook however is great, it is just more drills and games. It is necessary to first work through the logic games bible however in order to understand the explanations and general comments. The first half are drills, then there are 10 individual games then 5 "real LSAT sections" totaling 20 games for a grand total of 30 games! It is a must if you need additional help with the LG section and can benefit from seeing their setup and full explanation.
Best tool I had for practicing the logic games. Breaks them down into their littlest pieces, then slowly builds them up until you're working on full games by the end of it and feeling very confident in your foundations and abilities.
After reading through the third chapter, I felt more confident and scored better on the practice tests. It goes over setups so well. A must buy if you are struggling like me with logic games!
If you're going to take the LSAT you are going to need this but this is the workbook. Don't mistake the purchase for the original Logic Games Bible the book. You will need both.
